The trekking trail winds across the Annapurna region's lower elevations, passing through pine, rhododendron, and juniper forests. The primary goal of this journey is to reach the village of Ghorepani (2874m) and hike up to Poonhill (3210m).
Annapurna Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is one of the shortest and most well-known trekking routes in Annapurna's lower section. The trip continues through a traditional village, terraced farms, and rhododendron woodland before reaching the top of Poon Hill (3210m), completing a comfortable hike circuit that includes Nayapul, Ulleri, Ghorepani, Tadapani, Ghandruk, Birethanti, and Pokhara. Poon Hill is arguably the most popular hill station on the Annapurna journey for watching dawn and sunset views, including the Himalayan panorama of Mt.Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6839m), Barah Shikhar (7654m), Annapurna South (7219m), Fish Tail (6993m), and so on.
Ghorepani is a little village nestled in the forest, with a gorgeous array of rhododendron blooms and the welcoming hospitality and culture of the ethnic Gurung community. You can also visit the Gurung Museum and buy local handicrafts to support the local economy. This trek is also known as the Ghorepani Ghandruk circuit trek. Poonhill, one of the most popular hill stations in the Annapurna region, provides stunning sunset and sunrise views of the Himalayan peaks. Aside from Annapurna I (8091m) and Dhaulagiri (8167m), other spectacular peaks to see include Annapurna South (7219m), Nilgiri (7061m), Macchapuchre (6993m), and Hiunchuli (6441m), among others.
The Annapurna Panorama Trekking can be done at any time of year, but the Himalayan views are best in the spring and autumn. The trek starts in Nayapool in Pokhara and concludes at Jhinu village.
