Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) Trek or Annapurna Sanctuary Trek is everyone’s favorite trek on the planet. Yes! Literally on this planet, where hundreds of thousands of trekking routes are available, you can find simply scrolling through your phone. But, you will find ABC Trek’s recommendation and its flattery everywhere.

Do you know why, because is THE BEST ever trekking route.

So, why it is the best? Because it is not just a trek, it is an experience for a lifetime.

Here are a few reasons why ABC Trek is a favorite for many tourists, both local and international.

Suitable for Everybody

ABC trek is suitable for everybody and any person from 12 years onward can join this experience. The overall trail is moderate and most of the way is relatively easy with approximately 6 hours of walking route per day. If you are fit you can cover the longer distance, that’s up to you.

Most importantly, the nature of the trail changes along the way, it’s not just a mundane similar vibe trek. One thing is constant though, the sound of the river, the melodious sound of water flowing will soothe your ears from the beginning of your journey till you reach the camp.

Your First Step to Become a Serial Trekker

ABC sanctuary trek is best for professional trekkers, amateurs, and the first timer because everybody fits in this trail.

If you are a wannabe trekker, adventurer, or explorer, this is the most suitable place for you to start. If you are a first-timer and in doubt, this is where you wanna be. ABC will make you realize your real potential in you as a trekker or explorer. This might be the place, a future serial trekker should start.

All Season Trek

ABC is all season trekking route, so you don’t have to die waiting for the right time. You can visit here all seasons and any day of the year. Autumn and spring are the recommended season for travel, but it is worth it all year round. Keep this in mind, the recommended seasons bring a lot of crowd. If you like low crowds, you might think of other seasons.

Autumn (Mid-September to November)

This is a highly recommended time for the ABC trek and break because the views are not obstructed with almost 100% visibility. This is what unbelievable feels like.

At this time of the season, the air is dry and rainfall is pretty much out of the option, giving you one less reason to worry about traveling.

Also, if you are a social animal, you will meet travelers like you from all over the world. Exchange a few words or your entire culture, it will not be a problem unless you start exchanging fists.

Spring (March to May)

Spring starts in March in Nepal, just after February kicks the cold out of our air.

Spring discovers botanists, anthophilous, and florists, what more to say about it? All the ABC trail will be blooming at this time with Rhododendron and other colorful wildflowers.

Chances of light rainfall are there but will not complicate your journey. The weather temperature is between 16-22 degree Celsius in both spring and autumn.

Solitude seekers are likely to be suddenly social and over-friendly in this season.

Winter (December to February)

ABC trekking in winter will make your backpack heavier with sleeping bags and other winter gear.

The temperature can drop to -10 to -15 degree Celsius during the night but the day is warmer and you will be trekking after breakfast. Daytime temperature is usually from 9 to 15 degrees Celsius but move before the snowfall. Still, the visibility along the route is stunningly clear. No wonder, you are recommended to try ABC.

There is also a slight chance of Avalanches in his season. I said slightly.

Monsoon/Summer (June to Mid-September)

The monsoon/summer season is the least recommended season for ABC trek nevertheless worth it. The temperature rises up to 25 degree Celsius but somehow the rain balance the situation.

This is also one of the best times for solitude seekers, you will not see a single soul for hours sometimes. It feels like you are lost in heaven during the trek.  I would say heaven with few leeches.

Despite the muddy trails and somehow foggy situation, the visibility of magnificent mountains comes like the moment of truth with drumrolls.

You should remember to have more time on your hands if you are traveling in the monsoon because of delayed flights and slower paces while traveling. All in all, ABC still doesn’t lose its charm during this time.

Very Low Risk

Everybody Loves Annapurna Base Camp Trek.

One of the reasons is that ABC has a relatively low risk and absolutely no risk if you have a bit of seriousness.

And getting lost in the trail is almost impossible unless you want to get lost yourself.  All the route is made walkable and stairs are well-built in up and down the hill.

Budget Friendly

The budget-friendly face is another attractive feature of ABC Trek. A tourist can complete the trek for under $800 from Kathmandu including food, travel, and lodging. This cost also covers the Pokhara visit.

This is another reason to love the Annapurna Base Camp trip.

Mt. Machhapuchhre Bonus

Mount Machhapuchhre is a bonus to all travelers who aims to reach ABC as it is just after Machhapuchhre Base Camp (MBC).

Before reaching your final destination, magnificent Mt. Machhapuchhre will graciously welcome you giving you the courage to move further to your destination.

Trust me, you will be staring at the majestic Machhapuchhre for hours with the sound of the singing river by your side. This is what feels like picture-perfect.

360 Views of world’s 10th Highest Mountain and Others

ABC offers much more than you can imagine. Once you reach the base camp you will be surrounded 360 degrees with mountains. It feels like you can’t escape and that will be your wish too.

Stand in ABC and you will behold the divine view of Annapurna I (8091m), Annapurna South (7219m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Hiunchuli (6441m), Tharpa Chuli (5663m), and Singu Chuli (6501m).

You are on board for the ABC trek right now. Aren’t you?

Mother of All Sunrises

The sunrise experience from Annapurna Base Camp is the mother of all sunrises. No, I am wrong. It’s the mother, father, and grandfather sunrises of all sunrises.

No wonder you see Annapurna’s Sunrise selling in every tourist spot.

Natural Hot Spring

Natural hot spring on the way to ABC is another attraction and bonus for ABC trekkers.  Situated on the bank of the Modi River, travelers can enjoy the hot springs and relax.

Internet and Teahouses

You will just wonder how come you have an internet facility in every teahouse up to the base camp. Not only, will you be living the isolated nature but the touch of modern miracles at the same time.

It feels good to get connected with family or friends who are wishing to see you again back home.

Clean Bedrooms and Toilet Facilities

All the hotels along the way to ABC have good bedrooms with good toilet facilities. Those of you, who are wondering about nature's calling, don’t need to worry.

The hotel owners of the trails are concerned about your facility and it is as neat as it can get.

ABC’s View on Full Moon Night

If you are lucky or make perfect timing to reach full moon, the sight of mountains is soothing under the moonlight. Solar or lunar light, it doesn’t matter to ABC’s beauty. This place can handle it all.

The glow of mountains under the moonlight is unbelievable. You got to be here to believe it.

There are More Reasons to Love ABC Trek

There are other hundreds of reasons to love ABC trekking and I have already shown you the highlights.

Besides these facts, there is cultural and animal/bird diversity that makes it more interesting and easy to fall in love with.

You will see and understand the different ethnic cultures and lifestyles of Nepal. It makes you wonder how people thrive in harsh places and still have soft hearts.

There are many wildlife living in the Annapurna Sanctuary which is well protected by ACAP. Animals like the Chinese Pangolin, Endangered species like Kashmir Musk deer, Himalayan Musk deer, Snow Leopard, Clouded Leopard, Red Panda, and Himalayan Black Bear.

Birds like Steppe Eagle, Indian Pond Heron, Chukar, Common Emerald Love, Blue Whistling Thrush, Himalayan Monal, Cranes, Oriental Turtle Dive, Great Barbet, Satyr Tragopan, Kalij, Common Hill Partridge, Brown Fish Owl, Himalayan Griffon, Crested Serpent Eagle, and Cuckoo are found here.

Yup! Summing up here!

That’s why ABC Trek is People’s favorite.
