Humla is an important gateway for the holy Mount Kailash and the mythical Lake Mansarovar. Hindus, Buddhists, Jain and Bon followers see the 6714m high Mount Kailash as the holiest mountain on earth. Stepping on the shore and taking a bath in Lake Mansarowar or drinking from the water cleans the sins of a hundred rebirths.
The Humla - Mount Kailash Trekking takes you first to the remote region of Humla. From there you reach the Tibetan border and are driven to Mansarovar Lake. There start your "kora" (Tibetan) or "parikrama" (sanskrit), a holy-walk around the Mount Kailash. After completing your pilgrimage you are taken back to the Nepalese border and a trek through Limi Valley brings you back to your starting point.
